Paros, the jewel of the Cyclades

Paros is a Greek island in the central Aegean Sea. One of the islands of the Cyclades, it lies to the west of Naxos, from which it is separated by a channel about 8 kilometers (5 miles) wide. It is located about 150 kilometers (93 mi) southeast of Piraeus. The Municipality of Paros includes numerous uninhabited offshore islands totaling 196,308 square kilometers (75,795 sq mi) of land. Its nearest neighbor is the municipality of Antiparos, which is located to its southwest.

One of the most important destinations and one of the most cosmopolitan islands of the Aegean because it combines and provides everything. Beautiful coasts, windmills, white houses, churches and monasteries harmonize in a chord of white and blue.

Paros, the third largest island of the Cyclades, after Naxos and Andros, occupies a total of 186 square kilometers. Its coasts reach 120 km. with natural formations for all tastes: small and picturesque harbors, secluded coves but also extended sandy beaches. One word could describe the island of measure, from a geographical point of view. And this is because nothing reminds of the wildness of the rest of the Cyclades: the mountains are low hills that “disappear” softly on the coasts.
